Lafões Vitela

The famous Lafões Vitela is a product of the "crossbreeding of the native breeds Mirandesa and Arouquesa and, thanks to the vegetation and the microclimate, the meat is very soft, tasty and succulent". When visiting the region, do not miss a delicious roasted veal or a skewer of Lafões.

Dão's Wine

The Dão Wine, Denomination of Controlled Origin, is another outstanding product of the municipality of Viseu), do not forget to visit the dão cellars.

Lafões Wine

Another traditional product of the district, Lafões Wine (PGI) comes from the municipalities of Oliveira de Frades, São Pedro do Sul and Vouzela.

"White wines, with little alcohol, are fruity, rich in malic acidity and have characteristics that bring them closer to vinho verde (green wine). Red wines are scintillating, full-bodied, have high fixed acidity and aging makes them soft and velvety" [2 ].

Frangos de Oliveira de Frades

The municipality of Oliveira de Frades is also well known for the quality of its chickens.

Sweets and Fruits

In the capílo sweets and fruits, stand out Maçã Bravo de Esmolfe, Pêra Passa de Viseu, the traditional and delicious sweets of Vouzela, and the famous Broa de Vil de Moinhos.
