Located in the Central Region of the country, in the Baixo Vouga sub-region, in the former province of Beira Litoral, Aveiro is one of the 18 districts from Portugal.

The city of Aveiro is located 250 km north of Lisbon, 66 km northwest of Coimbra and 76 km south of the city of Porto.
