Ports of Setúbal and Sines
The Alentejo Litoral has two ports: Setúbal, at the mouth of the River Sado, and Sines. The Port of Setúbal receives medium-sized cargo ships (the depth
of its access channel is 12m), it has modern facilities and a good communications network for the interior of the continent.
The Port of Sines, deep water, with a depth of up to 28m, is the largest artificial port in Portugal. More than half of port traffic from
Portugal passes through the port of Sines, with several industrial products (oil and mineral).
