Lagoa is a city (6,000 inhab.) and a municipality with 23,718 inhabitants (INE, 2021,
1),
in the district of
Faro,
in
Algarve,
south of Portugal.

Land of good wines
In addition to white beaches, the municipality (municipality) of Lagoa is also one of the four DOP (Denominations of
Protected Origin) of wines produced in the Algarve. The other three
Lagos,
Portimão
and
Tavira. Good wines and gastronomy, for the
happiness of the inhabitants and visitors.
Area and Population
With an area of 88 km⊃, the municipality of Lagoa currently has a population of 23,718 inhabitants
(INE, 2021).
At the time of the previous census, the population of Lagoa was 22,975 inhabitants, registering an increase of 2.2% in the
resident population (INE, 2021).
Location
Between Albufeira (to the east) and Portimão (to the west)
The municipality (municipality) of Lagoa is limited to the north and east by
Silves,
to the west with
Portimão
and to the south with the Atlantic Ocean.
