Praia de João de Arens, the romantic corner of the Algarve

Beach located in the parish of Alvor (Portimão) (image above), small beach of great beauty and charming atmosphere. Between cliffs with a beautiful sea as far as the eye can see, Praia de João de Arens "the beach and the tip of prodígios from the bare coast of Portimão, a pedestrian route that fills the eyes, renews the soul. It's not in vain that some around here call it the last window to the sea and defend it with nails and teeth of urban-tourist greed. And then there's that beach, that beach..." [Newspaper publico.pt/2021/07/31/]

Praia de João de Arens, considered one of the most romantic beaches do Algarve is an unmissable destination on this stretch (section) of the Algarve coast, the Barlavento Beaches.

3. Praia dos Três Castelos

Três Castelos Beach, amazing landscape of the Algarve

Also located in the parish of Portimão, next to the famous Praia da Rocha, Praia dos Três Castelos (image below) rivals in everything with its famous neighbor throughout the Algarve and in Europe.

The three rocks (leixões) by the sea give the name to this beautiful beach: "The sand, whose designation alludes to the ledges that stubbornly resist the retreat of the coastline, bordering the promontory where the viewpoint of Três Castelos is located. One of the accesses to the beach is made through the stairs that descend from the viewpoint, from where you can enjoy an admirable view on the very carved rock formations of this beach, where arches are visible, caves and boulders, as well as rocky platforms, very attractive for birds such as hawks, gulls, cranes, rock pigeons and swifts" [Visit Algarve].
