Albufeira is big tourist hotspot in the Algarve. As with all south Portugal coastline, Albufeira has beautiful beaches and an amazing scenery framed by great nature landscapes.

Old fishermen village, the nowadays cosmopolitan Albufeira offers animated nightlife, high quality accommodations, restaurants as well as shops.

Barlavento

The Barlavento begins in Albufeira: more than 100 km of beautiful beaches, heading west along the Algarve Coast, to the Vicentine Coast, in the municipality of Aljezur.

The best beaches in the Algarve, according to visitors' preferences, are in the western Algarve: Albufeira, Portimão and Lagos, to mention only the top three beaches in the Algarve.

The municipality of Albufeira alone hosted 11% of the country's visitors in 2021, even more than the capital, Lisbon, according to official statistics (INE).

Peneco or Tunnel Beach

It is one of the beaches in the city center. The Peneco or Tunnel Beach has easy access, on foot, from the center of Albufeira. Beautiful view, long and wide sandy area, calm waves.
And all this framed by colorful cliffs from which the white houses of the city stand out. One of our favorites.
